Keep Your Make Up Brushes Clean Between Washes

Non Toxic Make Up Brush Cleaner.JPG

If you follow me over on the gram, you probably know that I am all about that non-toxic life. Whenever I can DITCH a chemical-filled product and SWITCH to a safer version I jump on it. Enter: my current make-up brush spray.

The older I get, the more attention I'm paying to my beauty products and really taking the time to take care of my skin. I've always washed my makeup brushes every other week with a good soak + my face wash scrub (it's also non-toxic) but I just recently started spritzing them with this cleaning spray after each use to keep them fresh between washes.

I’ve noticed such an improvement in my skin since starting to use this spray on my brushes. Probably because I’m not rubbing old makeup all over my face, lol.

Here’s what I put in it:

⋒ 5 drops of purification essential oil from Young Living

⋒ 5 drops of lavender essential oil from Young Living

⋒ 5 drops of lemon essential oil from Young Living

⋒ 2 drops of grapefruit essential oil from Young Living

⋒ 1 TBSP witch hazel (you can see the one I use above)

⋒ Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water

I spray this on my brushes after I do my makeup every morning to help keep them fresh. And fresh brushes = 2 really great things. 1. Less breakouts/skin issues and 2. Better looking makeup.

I'm always curious to know how often other people wash their makeup brushes? And what do you use? I want to make my own brush cleaner to deep clean them, so once I come up with something that works I'll definitely share it with y'all!
